Continued Blog…. Wonderful Nina took such good care of us that night. She took Walters’ and my laundry. Which was seriously dusty dirty I might add, and put it in the washer and then into the bana (dry sauna) with promises it will be dry by the morning. She brought me her special shampoo AND conditioner for the shower – whew! I love conditioner getting...
I wasn’t looking much forward to getting on the road from Tomtor, because the road into town was so gravelly.. I didn’t like it. But I was pleasantly surprised that the road was good for a really long time! There had been a bit of rain, gravel was gone, and it was more like compacted hard mud. Very easy, and I was cruisin’!! After breakfast we head for the Gulag. As with most things Russia.. for me anyway, I have never heard of a Gulag. Ilya from Magadan told us about this place, but again they all speak in Russian and I only pick up bits and pieces. Since then I have looked up more on the internet.. and we have also had a chance to visit a Gulag museum. I will give more...
